Sometimes in your life, things may not go your way. If you look back on your life you will find that when one door closed, another opened for you. Some choose to spend so much time focusing on the closed doors that they fail to see the open doors right before them.
Your perspective is very important; when you change your perspective, you change your world. Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times at getting the light bulb to work. When asked by a reporter about all of his failures, his reply was that he had successfully identified 1,000 ways in which the light bulb will not work. That’s perspective.
A hundred years from now, it will not matter what another person did to you, or said about you behind your back, what your bank account was, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove. What will matter in your life is whether or not you chose to live a joyful life. You don’t have the power to make life fair, but you do have the power to make life joyful.
Remember that pain is inevitable, but misery is optional. Never give another person the power to steal your joy by taking what they say about you personal. When a person has something negative to say to you, It’s not about you, it’s about them, and their unhappiness.Remind yourself to focus on living in the present. If we focus too much on the future, we experience anxiety. If we focus too much on pain from our past, we experience depression. When we focus on the now, we experience freedom.
I’ve said many times that no other person can make you feel bad or inferior without your permission. You will only be surrounded by annoying people and frustrating situations until you choose not to get annoyed or frustrated by what others do or say.
Your life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by the choices you make. Your beliefs don’t make you a better person; your behavior does. Attract what you expect. Reflect what you desire. Become what you respect, and mirror what you admire.
