With each new day, we are given the opportunity to be a blessing to others. When you go out of your way to be a blessing to others, you open the doors to receive more blessings yourself. Sometimes when you may be feeling a bit down, showing kindness towards another or just doing a random act of kindness will make a huge difference in how you feel. It’s amazing how a kind word, gesture, or smile, can uplift and warm the heart of another person who may be hurting inside or struggling with just getting by. We should spend more time blessing others than trying to impress others, kindness is far more powerful than competition. Just 15 seconds can make someone’s entire day. Your words and actions do make a difference.
One day a man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy hurriedly picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “Young man, what are you doing?” The boy replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” The man laughed to himself and said, “Don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then smiling at the man, he said, “I made a difference to that one.”
To make a difference in someone’s life, you don’t have to be brilliant, rich, successful, or popular, you just have to care. John F. Kennedy said. “One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.” I agree, I’ll see you at the beach.
