Many individuals choose to live above their means, which will eventually produce problems for them. If you can’t afford it at the moment don’t buy it, and definitely don’t charge it. When you borrow something, be sure to return it-money included. Make sure you don’t blame others for your shortcomings, and admit it when you make a mistake; correcting a mistake is called learning. Internally motivated individuals tend to own up to their mistakes and make positive changes, while externally motivated individuals constantly blame others for their shortcoming. When you continue to blame others for everything, you seldom will ever produce changes that will be in your best interest. Your best teacher is often your last mistake.
Take a day to concentrate on listening more and talking less. Do something nice without feeling the need to be recognized. Never speak ill of others for any reason. Go an entire day without criticizing anyone or anything. Be kind to unkind people, they need it the most. Dismiss the drama in your life and learn to live in the present without reliving pain from your past. Remember to be kind to yourself and refrain from comparing yourself to others. Using someone else’s ruler to measure your self-worth will always leave you short. Don’t ever feel bad for making a decision about your own life that upsets other people when you feel it’s in your best interest. Love yourself enough to walk away from the behaviors that no longer serve you.
Remember, only you are responsible for your happiness, not any other person, place, or thing. Pain is inevitable, but misery is optional. It’s ok to say no without explaining yourself. When you really want results, you will do whatever it takes to make it happen. You are where you are today because of the choices that you’ve made, if you don’t like where you are, learn to make better choices. If you aren’t willing to do whatever it takes, it’s because the result doesn’t matter enough to you.To get somewhere new, you must first decide that you are tired of being where you are. Life gives everybody a second chance; it’s called tomorrow.
